Katrina Morriss, PMHNP-BC
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in Lawrence, Kansas. I attended Baker University School of Nursing, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I have worked in a variety of inpatient settings as a registered nurse including Mother Baby, Medical-Surgical, and Emergency Departments. During those years I became curious about the mindset of people who are hurting.
I went back to school and received my Master of Science in Nursing from Graceland University. I received my board certification for PMHNP through ANCC. Since then, I have been working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the outpatient setting. I received certification for Narrative Focused Trauma Care through The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in Seattle, Washington.
I practice on the principle that I can only take someone on their healing journey as far as I have gone myself. I continue to honor my own story through ongoing therapy and through the support of my colleagues. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults, delivering patient care with a dedication to the restoration of their stories in order to help them live fully in the present and lean into hope for their future. I practice personalized medicine by collaborating with each patient to meet their specific needs.
